Happy
New Year to all of you! We
have had a great start to this New Year with an excellent review for our eScan
Internet Security Suite Version 10 in the January 2009 issue of Virus Bulletin.
This review has reiterated the superiority of our solutions and technologies.
I would
like to take this opportunity to express my deep appreciation to every one of
you for your hard work and sustained efforts towards making MicroWorld a global
entity. In the last many years, MicroWorld has spread to over 90 countries and
has become a force to reckon with in the Information Security Market.
2008
was a watershed year for us at MicroWorld in many ways. We had launched MailScan
5.6, gone retail in many countries and had embarked on the ambitious project of
eScan 10. The beta release of eScan 10 was a huge success with participation from
more than 3000 beta testers and we are now ready with a product that will give
all our competitors a run for their money. I am sure that with the giant leap
we have taken in terms of both user experience and technological innovations with
eScan 10, we will become one of the top 5 preferred security solution providers
worldwide in a very short span of time. The
new eScan version 10 boasts of a very user friendly GUI, our very own proactive
scan engines, with access to one of the largest Malware databases in the world,
faster scan times, all these with extremely prudent use of system resources. As
a matter-of-fact, the benchmarks which we have internally done, comparing eScan
10 with other security solutions, puts eScan 10 way above the rest. With the two
way firewall, Endpoint security and enhanced web protection, eScan has today evolved
into a solution that is futuristic in securing Enterprises, Medium business, Small
offices and home users. As
you are already aware, MicroWorld's products carries four engines inside it -
Adware/Spyware Engine, IDS/IPS Engine, AntiSpam/NILP Engine and AntiVirus Engine.
All of the above engines are intellectual property rights of MicroWorld, except
the AntiVirus Engine. Over
a period of time, MicroWorld has been developing its own HIPS/AV detection engines,
which is already part of eScan 10 and upcoming releases of other products. A commendation
for our HIPS has already been part of the VB review. Owing to this development
strategy, and looking into the long-term vision of MicroWorld to give cutting-edge
security products to partners and customers, we will no longer be having the antivirus
engine from Kaspersky. However, all partners and customers can be rest assured
that MicroWorld will keep providing updates and support for all the products which
they have purchased/deployed, and which has the old engine inside it, for the
period of the subscription. The
eScan version 10 ISS/AV editions has our own proactive scan engines, combined/assisted
by one of the largest Malware Databases consisting of over 2.5 million plus signatures
that has been certified by all reputed accreditation programs across the world.
Having said this, let me add that with this strategic move, we are extremely confident
of delivering world-class solutions, which are scaleable and reliable. You can
experience the rest in eScan 10. As many of you have already given feedback, the
new products are extremely fast, with high degree of outbreak responsiveness.
We believe
that your growth is our growth and together it will help us acquire customers.
Let us move forward in this New Year hand in hand towards setting new standards
in the Information Security Industry. Unlike many other companies, MicroWorld
is strongly committed to reaching new heights of success, together with its partners.
Lastly,
I wish this New Year will be a good one for you and your family. Regards,
 Govind
